Apple AirPods Pro 2 to Offer FDA-Approved Hearing Aid Feature for Mild Hearing Loss



Apple's AirPods Pro 2 will soon feature a new FDA-approved "Hearing Aid Feature," transforming them into affordable hearing aids for adults with mild to moderate hearing loss. Set to be available through a free software update, the feature will allow users to conduct a hearing test at home and adjust sound settings based on their results. 


This innovation is part of the FDA's efforts to make over-the-counter hearing aids more accessible, especially as traditional hearing aids can be prohibitively expensive. The move is seen as a breakthrough in making hearing assistance more affordable and reducing stigma around hearing loss.
