Baby Gourmet Foods Recalls Cereal Over Cronobacter Contamination Risk

Baby Gourmet Foods has issued a recall for its Banana Raisin Oatmeal Organic Whole Grain Cereal due to potential Cronobacter contamination. Sold in 227 g packages, this cereal is being pulled from all in-store and online retailers in Canada. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency identified the contamination risk through routine testing.

Cronobacter bacteria can cause severe or fatal infections in the bloodstream, central nervous system, and intestines, particularly in infants. The company states that no other Baby Gourmet or Little Gourmet products are affected and that no incidents have been reported. Consumers are advised to dispose of the cereal or return it for a refund.
