Sunday vs. Monday: The Great Debate Over the Start of the Week



The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) ends today, August 31, after three years of encouraging newcomers to settle in Canada’s remote regions. The program, which allowed up to 2,750 candidates, helped address skilled labor shortages in rural areas. However, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has decided not to renew RNIP. 


Instead, it will launch the Rural Community Immigration Pilot Program this fall, modeled after the Atlantic Immigration Program, to support remote regions with economic immigration. A Francophone Community Immigration Pilot is also set to begin, targeting French-speaking newcomers outside Quebec. Details on eligibility and participating communities are pending.
